The Best Perfumes to Recommend, According to 2,000 Reviews

I’ve written about perfumes for years (and collected a bunch), but nothing makes me question my taste faster than reading a comment section on any social media site. Recently, I fell down a very deep rabbit hole while browsing Threads—there are over 2,000 comments to be honest—where people were passionately debating the best perfumes of all time. The top comments themselves say that this will be a place to expect the unexpected.

Ultimately, something that wasn’t about “what’s trending on TikTok” or “what just launched,” but the perfumes people wore, repurchased, stopped on the street, and refused to be monitored. I learned one by one, the names of the screenshots, noticing patterns, and mentally piecing together which bottles kept coming up over and over again. And I am very happy to share my results.

After all that scrolling, a clear short list emerged: perfumes that people swear by, defend in comment sections, and always return to. Below are the ones that truly stand out—and yes, a few are already on my list.

Knowing her and loving her might be the best way to describe Delina. I have never heard a bad review. And though it comes in many forms—outside, a la rose, or as it is. Each iteration of the fragrance received a comment.

DS and Durga is not a specific scent, it is a brand. And instead of just naming one perfume they love, commenters go and pick collectors. They’ve rounded up the different offerings the brand has and named a few favorites.

Real or not—everyone knows what baccarat rouge smells like in New York City, that’s cool. People have both noticed Dossier’s take on the scent and OG and it seems you can’t go wrong either. I personally feel the difference and prefer the OG but most would say after the Dossier, close enough!
