Few products have been as light as compression nails. In my youth, they were a real punchline. The pressure was purely emergency; think “I completely forgot to book a manicure, and I have to be at this wedding in three hours.” And even then, you’d be lucky if you’re successful in cocktails without a spike that just pops into your champagne glass of the day.
But the press-ons of 2026 aren’t your aunt’s fake nails. In fact, I think I’m saying, “Thank you, they’re press-ons!” at least once a week. More and more brands have entered the space (including storied polish cleaners like OPI), and glue technology has grown rapidly. These days, you can expect your pressure to last long after the bride and her new husband or wife have left for the night.
The designs are very different, too. Rationale: In the last decade or so, nail art has taken off in a big way. Still, for all the maximalists who gravitate to baubles of makeup gel and stunning stiletto heels, I know three people who prefer to keep things simple. If that sounds like you, fear not: There are still plenty of short silhouettes, solid colors, and traditional designs to choose from—like French tips.
There are so many great French press-ons that I decided to round up a few of my favorites, including classic styles, colorful options, and sets with fun flourishes. Scroll to see ’em.
The Classics
These standard sets go with everything. Pink and white are classic for a reason—they’re incredibly cute and versatile, and they work for every season.
Strong Nails
Chic French Reusable Pop-On Manicure
Consider the Static Nails collection an investment: They are inexpensive, but highly reusable, made of thick, high-quality materials. Therefore, they are a good choice for a traditional French man that you will wear over and over again. Use the brand’s 100% Non-Toxi Odorless Polish & Pop-On Remover to dissolve polish without harming nails (fake or yours).
BTArtboxnails
XCOATTIP Press Nails
This is another pricey option, but again, if you know you’ll be wearing them over and over again, a solid set of press-ons in a timeless design is more than worth it. This offering is among the most customizable: Choose between three different base shades and lengths for your perfect French. I love the trendy square shape on this one.
A Pleasant Touch
Do you feel shy? Add an accent to your mani. That doesn’t mean it has color. Try different finishes or gemstones for added excitement.
The Lost Angels
Press On Your Own Nail Set
Leave it to Megan Fox’s manicurist to add a rock-and-roll edge to French tips. This full set is from Lost Angeles, a brand founded by nail artist Brittney Boyce (AKA @nails_of_la).
Olive & June
Instant Mani Press-On Nails Chrome French
Olive & June is famous for making nail art accessible (the brand’s A doll the bottle handle was a game-changer), so getting into the pressure point was a no-brainer. This frosted French will save you the trouble of cleaning up chrome powder.
Metallics
These super shiny half moons are like jewelry on your hands. So keep pushing yourself—you won’t regret it.
Strong Nails
Metallic French Short Almond Reusable Pop-On Manicure
Add a futuristic feel to your French with these silver metallic tips from Static Nails. Fun fact: Since they are high quality, you can shape and paint them however you see fit. So if you ever fall out of love with silver (although I don’t see why you would), you can always switch things up. Maybe go in with a magnetic polish to touch the velvet?
OPI
xPRESS/KU French Tip Press On Nails
As you can see, OPI’s sweet naming conventions extend to their pressing. Perhaps unsurprisingly, when it comes to prints, I find OPI to be over the top in their color offerings; take these nails, for example, with a white “soap mani” base.
The Noirs
Paint it black with a French manicure with the power of an LBD (as in the Little Black Dress). It doesn’t get sex. Could this be your Valentine’s Day gift, perhaps?
Glamnetic
Press the Nails into the Black Truffle
You don’t see a specific shape or height with Glamnetic’s Black Truffle design: It comes in silhouettes from medium-length almond to short and square, making it easy to find the version that works best for your lifestyle and preferences.
KISS Nails
CORE Press on Fake Nails Full of Fun
Kiss recently made major changes to their press, improving fit and expanding their offerings across the “Core,” “Glam,” and “Icon” styles. This classic black Frenchie is in that first collection, next to the Frenchies in small classic white and pretty designs (like this floral set).
The Brights
“Old” doesn’t have to be boring, and these playfully painted press machines prove it.
Glamnetic
Press Nails in Neon Lights
I return to Glamnetic time and time again: The design selection is equal parts classic and trendy—with lots of fun collaborations thrown into the mix—and the Powerful Brush-On Nail Glue is, hands down, my absolute favorite. (No. It doesn’t move.) This negative-space look is one of their French takes on color.
The Chillhouse
Tips for Dating in French But in America
Treat yourself to Pucci in these Chill Tips. Chillhouse is my go-to for quirky, funky designs that are just a little bit retro, but in a way that feels totally modern. Also, I always get compliments on how natural they look, especially around the nail bed.
