Tyla Is Back With Another Amazing Braided Bob

Leave it to Tyla to keep reminding me that you can still enjoy the bob look even if your hair is tied back in a protective braided style. The “Chanel” singer appeared as a musical guest on the most recent episode of The Tonight Showand her hairstyle of the time fully convinced me that if the braided bob ever needed a spokesperson, she would be the perfect man for the job.

Tyla appeared on the talk show on Jan. 27 wearing a Chanel two-piece with an off-the-shoulder card and mini skirt with matching red and white embroidery. Underneath, she layered it with a black bra top and accessorized with red and white jewelry like a pair and tied a white chain around her waist. In true Tyla fashion, her glitz of the night looked just like her dress. To do so, she wore her hair in a braid with thin edges, half tied with a part on the left side of her head. The tresses were bob length and styled with a retro, twisting curl at the end.

Obviously, this isn’t Tyla’s first episode of going with a braided bob. Back in November, she wore the same hairstyle to her destination It’s a luxuryWomen of the Year Awards in New York City, only then, the braids were a little longer and didn’t have curls at the end. Before that, she performed at the Global Citizen Festival wearing the same style.

Wearing a protective style for a long time requires you to get creative with your style from time to time, which Tyla seems to be a master at. Almost immediately after singing The Tonight Show this week, she jumped in the pool to attend Valentino’s Spring/Summer ’26 show during Haute Couture week, and this time she tossed a few of her braids forward for a kiss curl.

ICYMI: Bob was i 2025 haircut. It’s a great way to get rid of split ends and chemical or heat damage, but it’s also a powerful “head b*tch in charge” hairstyle. The good news, according to Tyla’s styling expertise, is that there are a variety of ways to wear a “cutty little bob,” and you don’t have to fully commit to cutting your real hair into shape just to get the look, especially if you’re a regular protective style wearer.
